Durable, Reliable, and Secure Industrial Boom Gates for All Types of Access Control

National Entrance Systems supplies, installs, and maintains commercial and industrial boom gate systems across Australia. From a single car park entry to a multi-lane logistics facility with integrated access control, we handle the full scope, site assessment, supply, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service, with locally based technicians in every major city. If you’re specifying a new system or replacing an ageing one, this page covers what we supply, how we install it, which brands we work with, and how to get a quote for your site.

What We Supply

And What We Do About It

We supply the full range of automatic boom gate systems for commercial and industrial applications across Australia. Every system we specify is matched to your site, traffic volume, lane width, access control requirements, environmental conditions, and budget all shape the recommendation.

Automatic Boom Gates

The workhorse of commercial vehicle access control. Electrically operated, configurable for any access control input, and engineered for high-cycle operation across car parks, warehouses, logistics hubs, office complexes, hospitals, and institutional facilities. Available in arm lengths from 3m to 8m as standard, with extended configurations available for wide-lane applications.

Folding (Articulated) Boom Gates

Designed for sites with limited vertical clearance — primarily underground and basement car parks. The arm folds as it rises, significantly reducing the overhead space required. Mechanism complexity is marginally higher than straight-arm gates, which we factor into maintenance planning.

High-Speed Boom Gates

For sites where throughput is critical — toll-style entry points, busy car parks at peak demand, port and freight terminal access, and high-volume industrial entrances. Cycle times under 1.5 seconds eliminate queue buildup at peak periods. These systems are engineered for intensive duty cycles well beyond what standard commercial gates can sustain.

Solar-Powered Boom Gates

A practical solution for remote sites, regional properties, and locations where running mains power to the gate position is costly or logistically difficult. Solar panel and battery backup configurations maintain reliable operation without mains dependency. Increasingly specified across regional Queensland, WA, and NT where trenching cost is a significant factor.

High-Security Boom Gates

For government facilities, data centres, critical infrastructure, and any site where vehicle incursion is a genuine security risk. These systems combine reinforced cabinet construction, anti-lift and anti-tamper features, and compatibility with high-security access control infrastructure including biometric and multi-factor authentication.

Our Installation Process

A boom gate installation done properly is a significant infrastructure project, not a same-day job. Here’s how we approach it.

01

Site Assessment

Before any equipment is specified, one of our technicians visits your site. We assess traffic flow, lane configuration, available headroom, power supply, underground services, access control requirements, and any site-specific constraints. The assessment is free and produces a detailed written recommendation.

02

System Design and Quote

Based on the site assessment, we produce a written system design and itemised quote. This covers equipment, installation labour, electrical work, loop detector installation, access control configuration, and commissioning. No line item is bundled or hidden.

03

Concrete Pad and Civil Preparation

Every boom gate requires a reinforced concrete mounting pad. Where an existing pad is present and suitable, we assess it. Where a new pad is required, we manage or coordinate that work ahead of installation. The gate cannot be installed until the pad is fully cured.

04

Installation

Cabinet mounting, electrical connection, boom arm fitting, loop detector installation (cutting, laying, sealing), and access control device wiring. Our installation teams are experienced across all major brands and configurations.

05

Configuration and Commissioning

Control board programming, access control integration, loop detector calibration, safety sensor verification, and full cycle testing. We don’t sign off on a job until every function has been tested to specification.

06

Handover and Documentation

You receive written handover documentation including system configuration, access credentials, maintenance schedule, and warranty details. We walk your site manager through operation and basic troubleshooting before we leave.

Ongoing Service and Maintenance

Supply and installation is only the beginning of a boom gate’s life on your site. A system that isn’t maintained regularly will fail, typically at the worst possible time. For sites that need reactive repair rather than scheduled maintenance, or where a previously installed system from another contractor has developed faults, our repair team handles all makes and models.

We offer structured maintenance agreements for commercial and industrial clients covering:

Brisbane CBD and metropolitan area, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and regional Queensland. Strong presence in industrial estates and commercial facilities across South East Queensland.

Perth metropolitan coverage including Kewdale, Welshpool, Malaga, and surrounding industrial zones. Significant experience with mining-adjacent facilities and heavy industrial access control requirements in WA.

Boom Gates Adelaide and Regional

Adelaide metro coverage and regional locations across SA, NSW, VIC, and QLD. Contact us to confirm availability for your specific location.

Boom Gate Repair & Installation Across Australia

Our installation and service teams are locally based across Australia, not dispatched from a central hub. This means realistic response times and no inflated travel costs for regional sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does boom gate installation take?

A standard single-gate installation takes one to two days, not counting concrete pad curing time (typically 24–48 hours before mounting can begin). Multi-lane or complex integrated systems require more time. We provide a project timeline with every quote.

Can you install a boom gate where there's no mains power nearby?

Yes. Solar-powered configurations with battery backup are a practical solution for sites where running mains power to the gate position is expensive or impractical. We'll advise on the right specification based on your site's traffic volume and local solar conditions.

Can you integrate with our existing access control system?

In most cases, yes. Modern boom gate control boards are designed for broad integration compatibility. We'll assess your existing system during the site inspection and confirm compatibility before quoting.

What arm lengths are available?

Standard commercial boom gate arms range from 3m to 8m. Extended configurations for wider lanes are available on specific models. Folding (articulated) arms are available for low-headroom environments. We'll specify the right configuration based on your lane width during the site assessment.

Do boom gates need council approval?

It depends on the site and whether the installation affects a public road, footpath, or kerb crossing. Your installer should advise on any permit requirements specific to your site. We manage this as part of the site assessment and pre-installation process.

We Work with the World’s Most Trusted Brands

We work with the leading boom gate manufacturers operating in Australia. Brand selection is driven by site requirements, not supplier preference, we’ll recommend the right system for your application, not the one we happen to have in stock.
